In the past, career advancement in developing countries like Ethiopia was often limited. Many Employees spent their entire careers in the same position they were first hired for. However, with determination and perseverance, meaningful progress is possible. My own journey began humbly as an elementary school teacher. Today, through years of hard work and dedication, I have earned a Ph.D. in Development Economics. This path has required continuous learning, focused effort, and unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth. Throughout, I have held firmly to the values of honesty, diligence, and integrity. By the grace of God, I have been granted opportunities that many before me did not have. My aim now is to apply this knowledge in service of students, communities, and the broader goals of development. The journey has been long, but it proves that with faith and persistence, meaningful change is always within reach.
Facts
I have been fortunate to advance my education despite many challenges along the way. After completing my first degree in Economics, I remained committed to learning and earned my Master’s in Development Economics just three years later. Today, I am deeply grateful to have completed my Ph.D. in Development Economics at Wollega University in Ethiopia. This journey has been both humbling and empowering, reinforcing my belief that persistence and purpose can unlock opportunities that once seemed out of reach. My story is a testament to the power of determination, and I hope it inspires others to pursue their academic goals—no matter the barriers. Lifelong learning, when approached with effort, resilience, and support, can be a source of deep fulfillment. I now look forward to using my knowledge and experiences to contribute meaningfully to development efforts and to support others in achieving their own educational dreams.
